Rollerblading Safely
The recreational activity of Rollerblading has really taken off in Ireland, and offers a real alternative to traditional exercise such as cycling and jogging, for keeping fit and burning the calories. Traditionally rollerblading was seen as a young person’s past time, but it is currently being enjoyed by people from all ages and all walks of life. As wrist injuries are the most common injuries associated with rollerblading it is important that wrist guards be worn. They must fit over the hands to absorb the shock of a fall. Elbow and knee pads should also be worn. Make sure that they fit correctly – not too loose or too tight. From the above points it is essential that protective equipment is worn.
