A Marathon Effort
On Monday 4th June 2007, a Phoenix Team will line up to take part in the Cork City Marathon.  The motivation, the training, the commitment and the smell of Deep Heat that has dominated our offices will culminate in a wonderful achievement for our team and the charities we are supporting.  Exercising helps us to stay healthy, so there’s no point in getting hurt doing it! Here are our Top Tips for safe exercising...

Food Allergies - Facts on a Plate

When Mary prepared peanut butter on toast for her son Sean, she did it because they were running late for childcare and it was the quickest thing she could put together.  But shortly after Sean began eating, his child-care provider noticed he seemed to be trying to scratch an itch in his mouth.  After he vomited and began wheezing, the care provider sought medical treatment for Sean, who was later diagnosed with a food allergy, in this case to peanuts.

Q&A section with Paul Tierney

I am getting ready to return to work after having my first baby. What, if anything, do I need to discuss with my employer before returning?
Regards Sara

Our EHS department sent a memo recommending the use of safety nets as fall protection for workers on our site in west Dublin. I have never seen them in use before. What are the main safety considerations, from the employer’s point of view?
Regards,
John
