| Answer to Question 2: Hi Patricia, The short answer is yes, mice can also be carriers of bacteria and infection which can cause disease. Rats are now well recognised as being carriers of disease. Perhaps the best known of these is Leptospirosis which can be transmitted to humans, however research has indicated that mice can be carriers a bacteria knows as Salmonella.
