Summer Job Safety |
|
Gaining early work experience over the summer holidays is
a great way for young people to kick start their careers
or try new activities. On the other hand if the focus is
on learning new job skills and making a good impression,
safety can fall by the wayside.

Marathon Rewards |
 |
On Monday 4th June, two Phoenix Safety teams took on the Cork City
Marathon. We had fantastic supporters, lots of fun along
the way and most importantly we raised money for our two charities National
Guide Dogs for the Blind and Central Remedial Clinic.
Special thanks to both our charities, in particular
Bernadette Healy and Olive Smyth, for all their support in
the build up and on the day; it was very much appreciated.
Next year, we’re doing the 26 miles?! |

Q&A section with Paul Tierney
|
|
 |
A
Portuguese employee has just commenced work with our
organisation. He is the first non-English speaking
national we hired. I am wondering how to tackle the
language barrier to ensure he understands our safety
statement and procedures?

Hi Paul, I work in a manufacturing plant. During the
recent hot spell, people complained of discomfort due to
the high temperature on the floor and asked to go home.
What is the maximum legal temperature for working indoors
and what do you recommend we do for our employees during
these days?
Regards,
Noel
