Answer to Question 1: Morning Martin, The new Occupational First Aid (Level 5) FETAC approved course includes Unit 4 - Cardiac First Aid response (incl. defibrillator use). This provides the course participants with the necessary knowledge, practical skills and understanding required to provide and co-ordinate the full range of first-aid in the workplace. Your staff are fully qualified to use a defibrillator on site. In a cardiac arrest situation the speed of the reaction could be the difference between life and death. This is why the Cardiac First Aid response (incl. defibrillator use) module was added to the First-aid course. The decision as to whether you have and maintain a defibrillator on site is up to you but if you decide to have one you have all the expertise you need already on site. Best Regards, |
