The answer to this is yes you should report it to the HSA. If any injury was sustained in the course of employment, which prevents that person from performing the normal duties of their work for more than three calendar days, not including the date of the accident, then it should be reported. A road traffic accident (excluding an accident that occurs while a person is commuting either to or from work) is classified a work related injury. It must be noted that calendar days include Saturdays and Sundays. For example, if an employee, who is injured on Wednesday, and does not normally work on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, returns to work the following Monday, the accident is reportable.
