Ladder Safety at Home |
 |
Falls from heights are one of the leading causes of
fatalities in the home. The safest way to climb indoors
and out is to use a safe and secure ladder. Most homes
have some type of ladder either single, double extension
or folding step ladder.

Holiday
Driving - Are We There Yet? |
|
Excitement! The day has come and all the waiting is over,
we’re on our way, or are we? Have we got the journey
planned out? Holidays can often involve a lot of traveling
by road. The Easter period is regarded by many people as
an ideal time to take that weekend break with family or
friends.

Q&A section with Paul Tierney
|
 |
Dear Paul,
To my knowledge, we are not affected by noise vibration
issues but I have noticed in the General Regulations that
these are mentioned and I know that the levels for the
noise came down in the last revision of the Act. Do we
need to carry out an assessment of sorts here now given
that we have no record of doing one before? Or are these
particular regulations aimed at different industries to
ours?

Dear Paul,
I have been checking up on signage in relation to PPE and
chemicals. A blue background means mandatory action
whereas yellow is more advisory. Is it possible to create
one’s own set of signs based on the various shapes and
colors? I am wondering if can I create an eye-protection
sign, which is usually mandatory, but make it
yellow/orange as in advisory. I would assume not and that
it’s either fully implemented or not but with the changes
to the signage regulations I would like to know for sure.
Thanks,
John-Paul, Galway
