Public Courses Launch in Dublin

Due to an unprecedented demand for Phoenix Safety Training courses we are delighted to announce the grand launch of the 2008 Phoenix Safety Dublin Course Schedule. All Phoenix Safety courses are presented by highly qualified instructors with the relevant certification and industry knowledge and are developed according to HSA guidelines.

Ladder Safety at Home

Falls from heights are one of the leading causes of fatalities in the home.  The safest way to climb indoors and out is to use a safe and secure ladder.  Most homes have some type of ladder either single, double extension or folding step ladder.

Q&A section with Paul Tierney

Dear Paul,

To my knowledge, we are not affected by noise vibration issues but I have noticed in the General Regulations that these are mentioned and I know that the levels for the noise came down in the last revision of the Act.  Do we need to carry out an assessment of sorts here now given that we have no record of doing one before?  Or are these particular regulations aimed at different industries to ours?

Michael, CEO

Dear Paul,

I have been checking up on signage in relation to PPE and chemicals.  A blue background means mandatory action whereas yellow is more advisory.  Is it possible to create one’s own set of signs based on the various shapes and colors?  I am wondering if can I create an eye-protection sign, which is usually mandatory, but make it yellow/orange as in advisory.  I would assume not and that it’s either fully implemented or not but with the changes to the signage regulations I would like to know for sure.

Thanks,
John-Paul, Galway
