Thank you for your recent query to our newsletter.  

In simple terms, my reply to you would be "No", we would not recommend these ear defenders.  

Firstly with regard to control measures we always try to look a high as possible up the Hierarchy of Prevention with regard to controlling noise and we try to not solely rely on PPE.  Therefore I would be investigating if you could design in a quieter process or consider soundproofing.

There is also the issue of the 5 ft plastic cord being a trip hazard, as well as issue of the employees being able to hear vehicle movement (Forklift truck, MEWPS, Pallet trucks or Trolley movement). 

So in summary we would suggest that this would be unsafe in a production environment.
