When Good Food Goes Bad

Food poisoning is a common, yet distressing and sometimes life-threatening problem for thousands of people.  People infected with food borne organisms may be symptom-free or may have symptoms ranging from mild intestinal discomfort to severe dehydration and nausea.  Depending on the type of infection, people can even die as a result of food poisoning.

Presentation of OHSAS 18001 Certificate
Hogan Drilling, based in Co. Tipperary, provides profiling, drilling and blasting services to the quarry and civil engineering sectors. Over the past few years, management and staff at Hogan drilling have worked closely with Phoenix Safety in order to develop a structured Safety Management System for the company.

This hard work has paid off and Hogan Drilling has recently been awarded with OHSAS 18001 Certification, the internationally recognised occupational Health & Safety management system.

Phoenix Safety would like to congratulate Hogan Drilling on such an outstanding achievement.

Q&A section with Paul Tierney

Hi Paul,
We have recently moved into a new facility which has air-conditioning. Several staff have gone off sick and have put it down to getting a cold from the air-conditioning, stating that the office temperature (although set to 21 degrees) was too cold for them or because the opinion is that the system spreads germs easily.
Apart from not dressing appropriately, is there any scientific proof that air conditioning does spread viruses easily?
Regards,
Susan

Hi Paul,
Are you aware of any Regulations/Legislation regarding emissions from panel beaters premises, in relation to new housing/industrial developments nearby to said premises?
I'm lead to believe it is more of an insurance issue?
Kind Regards,
Fergal - Cork
