Halloween Pet Safety |
|
The 31st of October. Halloween night, is an exciting night
for both adults and children alike. There’s fun to be had for all who
want to get involved, whether it’s dressing in costume, going to
parties or just going to a well organised bonfire. But spare a thought
for the members of the household who may not be as excited about the
time of year as we are...

ATEX requirements in the workplace |
|
 |
There is new legislation in place to deal with Explosive
Atmospheres in the Irish workplace as a result of a new EU
Directive. They are mentioned in Part 8 of the 2007
Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Regulations. There is
also some information provided in Schedule 10 of the
regulations.
Explosion protection is of particular importance to safety
as explosions endanger the lives and health of workers as
a result of the uncontrolled effects of flame and
pressure, the presence of noxious reaction products, and
consumption of the oxygen in the ambient air which
workers breathe.

Q&A section with Paul Tierney |
|
Paul,
I have been told that the new Vibration Regulations are
applicable to all places of work and require measurement as
part of my risk assessment. What do I measure and how?
Mary, Galway

Hi,
How do I identify a Confined Space in my workplace and when
I do what action am I to take?
Thanks,
Richard.
