Cartridge Operated Tools Course

Course Aim:

To provide you with the information and training necessary to be competent in the use of cartridge operated tools on site, in order to avoid injury to yourself and to others.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• State relevant Irish and EU Legislation.
• Describe the hazard & risk involved in its use.
• Describe the correct PPE appropriate to its use.
• Describe the correct and safe use of the tool.

Course Programme:

• Legislation – as it applies to the employer and employee.
• Dangers and harm caused by careless /unskilled methods of tool use.
• Appropriate PPE.
• Safe use of the tool.
• Hazards and risks.
• How to handle tool with different materials.
• Practice in safe handling of the tool.

Who Should Attend:

Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application Regulations) 2007, it is a requirement that ALL employees attend Safe Work Equipment Training.

Assessment & Certification:

To receive certification for cartridge tool operational training all participants must successfully complete a practical operational activity. The ticket & certification is valid for 3 years from the date of training.

Course Attendance:

• Maximum of 10 participants.
• ½ day duration (3.5 hrs).
