Construction Site Safety
Course Aim:
This is a one day course designed to provide the course participants with the appropriate basic awareness on the hazards and dangers associated with working on a Construction Site.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- List their legal requirements under the Construction Regulations 2006, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and the General Application Regulations, 2007.
- Identify the types of hazards that exist on a construction site.
- Identify and comply with their statutory requirements for all examinations, testing and inspections.
- Conduct their duties in relation to health and safety with increased confidence.
Course Programme:
- Legislation.
- Safety consultation.
- Accident reporting.
- Scaffolding.
- Manual handling & lifting.
- Working at heights.
- Cranes / lifting gear.
- Importance of first aid.
- CR forms.
- Transport.
- Noise.
- Safety of vehicles on-site.
- Noise & vibrations.
- Excavations / confined spaces.
- Tool box talks.
- Electricity.
- Personal Protective Equipment.
Training Methods:
Classroom presentation on multimedia, supplemented by videos, and flipchart discussions throughout the course. Course handouts, training records, evaluation forms are also provided and used.
Course Attendance:
- Maximum of 12 participants.
- 1 day duration.
