Forklift Truck Training
We can travel and provide counterbalance and reach forklift training at our customer’s premises to reduce any inconvenience to trainees. There is a legal requirement for forklift operatives to be trained. During training there must be sufficient space available to carry out basic manoeuvring skills and to set up a test course.
Course Aim:
The aim of this course is to provide Forklift drivers with the necessary knowledge and training necessary to obtain certification as a Forklift operator.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Operate the forklift using safe driving habits.
- Demonstrate safe loading and unloading and movement of loads.
- Operate a vehicle safely, reducing the risk of injury to themselves and others.
- Understand the legislation that pertained to the use of the forklift.
- Understand the potential consequences of their actions.
- Refuel / recharge forklift safely.
Course Programme:
- Introduction to the course and safe driving
- Introduction to the vehicle and its controls
- Safe operating practices and safety video
- Operator safety and elementary driving
- Safe loading and unloading of the vehicle
- Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedure to adopt when driving the vehicle
- Examination (written and practical)
Assessment & Certification:
All of our instructors are trained & registered by the RTITB (Road Transport Industrial Training Board).
Who Should Attend?
Refresher forklift training is a 1-day course for renewal of existing operator tickets. For experienced operatives (Proof required) a 2-day course should suffice. For inexperienced/novice operatives a 4/5 day duration course can be run.
Training Methods:
Classroom presentation on multimedia, supplemented by videos and discussions throughout the course. Practical demonstrations and applications using the forklift. Supported by course handouts, training records and evaluation forms.
